The project „Footprints“ is being carried out as a COMENIUS school partnership with the participation of seven European countries. In the course of this project we want to promote a more ecologically minded behaviour within our individual schools. We feel that this close international cooperation will help us make pupils as well as teachers become conscious of the immediate and urgent need of a sustainable environmental awareness in all of us. This project is divided into three major sections:Section One will prompt each individual school to adopt environmental measures to improve their ecological footprint within the school. These measures will be suggested by the partners after having filled in a questionnaire to this effect and discussed the outcome. These environmental measures (=“Trial Runs”) will be kept up for six months and their development will be closely followed by the partners and carefully documented on this website.
Section Two will comprise individual projects relating to the areas of waste, food, natural ressources and energy. The aim is to include as many pupils as possible, of different age groups and abilities. The projects will also be diligently documented on this website. A detailed description will be available at the end of the project.
Finally, there is Section Three comprising seven meetings, one in each of the participating countries, each involving teachers as well as selected pupils. Participants will take it in turns to describe both the working as well as the cultural schedule of each meeting and publish it on the website. |
